Taking a little breather from my urban photography and whisking myself off to the woods for a spell.
I always struggled to get “good” tree shots and it always bothered me, like, how do you get the whole tree or how do you show the forest. But suddenly, in looking back, I had my own way of looking at the woods. I like these close ups or just a section of the trees and flowers and bushes. Like a reversal of looking, a seeing the tree for the forest.
Also, if you know me, I like patterns or series of images (or collages) and so now I'm on a little side mission to pull this “style” or series from my photo catalogue over the last few decades. AND to also get out and shoot more intentionally - hence the last few images I shared recently from a hike. Just for fun and because I love being creative.
(Pls note, I'm aware this is not a style unique to me. Many artists do this. I'm just noticing and exploring and enjoying my own artsy fartsy progress. Especially as I get older and have more patience, time and money to explore art in general and my own feelings and process in creating things).
